Wait a minute baby... Stay with me awhile Said you'd give me light But you never told me 'bout the fire Drowning in the sea of love Where everyone would love to drown But now it's gone It doesn't matter what for So if you build your house Well, then, call me And he was just like a great dark wing Within the wings of a storm Well, I think I had met my match Oooh, he was singing And undoing...and undoing...oh, the laces Undoing the laces Oooh, oooh Said, Sara You're the poet in my heart Never change, darlin', never stop But now it's gone It doesn't matter what for But if you build your house Well, then, call me home Ooh, the man says "Hold on, babe The night is coming" And the starling flew for days and days Well, I'd stay home at night all the time Well, I could go anywhere, anywhere, anywhere Ask me and I will be there Well, you ask me and I'm there, 'cause I care In the sea of love Ooh, I know every one of you would just love to drown But now it's gone You say it doesn't matter anymore But when you build your house Call me home Sara, you're the poet in my heart Never change, and don't you ever stop It's never gone It always matters what for But if you build your house I will come by Sara, ooh, oooh Ooh, Sara All I ever wanted Was to know that you were dreaming Sara Oooh, Sara

WEBMISTRESS speculates:
See the original Sara for most of my thoughts on this song. But there's one significant difference. In this live version, she changes "now it's gone, it doesn't matter anymore" to "it's never gone, it always matters what for" in the last stanza. That hearbeat never really died, the memory stays with her, and it does matter. It always will.
