Did You Miss Me

Written by L. Buckingham and K. Buckingham

I took a trip out of town
A hundred years underground
And had to swim across the sea
Oh, when you were my baby
Did you miss me in the morning?
Did you miss me in the evening?
When everyone is bound to dream
And did you ever run where the wind blows?
Did you ever go where I didn't know?
Oh baby, did you miss me?
A hundred years out of town
Is not so long I found
Just long enough to get free
Oh, when you were my baby
Did you miss me in the morning?
Did you miss me in the evening?
When everyone is bound to dream
And did you ever run where the wind blows?
Did you ever go where I didn't know?
Oh baby, did you miss me?
Look at us now, years fall down
Show me how
Check it out, hear the sound
All these walls are coming down
That's just you, that's just me
Oh, when you were my baby
Did you miss me in the morning?
Did you miss me in the evening?
When everyone is bound to dream
And did you ever run where the wind blows?
Did you ever go where I didn't know?
Oh baby, did you miss me?

WEBMISTRESS speculates:

In this song, Lindsey seems to be reminiscing with a past love, one who he had been with for many years. Apparently, it took him a while to "get free" of the breakup, and he seems to be wondering if it was as difficult for her - did she miss him, too? Since "the walls are coming down," it seems he is finally able to reach a resolution with this person.
