Love Runs Deeper

 Written by L. Buckingham

 Well, you came to me
You cooled my mind
The stakes were high
Impossible to describe
I loved you, little child
How you mystified
Just a blinding flash
We were parallel lines
Love runs deeper from the underground
Love runs deeper from a broken home
Black angel can't be alone
Love runs deeper from the underground
In the shadow moon
Steel tears I cried
You were out of tune
It seemed to suit my dark side
You had a prophet's pose
And two states of mind
I was sure I'd go
We were parallel lines
Love runs deeper from the underground
Love runs deeper from a broken home
Black angel can't be alone
Love runs deeper from the underground
Love runs deeper from the underground
Love runs deeper from the underground
Love runs deeper from a broken home
Black angel can't be alone
Love runs deeper from the underground

WEBMISTRESS speculates:

This love song seems to be about finding comfort from a woman who, while different enough from him to make him sometimes consider leaving, also balances him out. Something occuring "underground" usually means that it is unseen or unnoticed by most; perhaps the lack of a spotlight on the relationship makes it more special. The "broken home" reference seems to refer to the fact that those who have undergone disappointments in the past hold more tightly to what they have in order to insure it doesn't happen again.
