Beauty Has an Ache

Written & Sung: D. Douma; Guitar: L. Buckingham

Now, everybody gets to have a face Some fit unsuccessfully, others out of place And some are taken to be without a mar Nurtured carefully to show how beautiful we are Now, you know That beauty has an ache Though you try, you can't divide The honest from the fake You're highly prized So beauty can't resist A medium don't need to read the lines On your wrist Now everybody shows you their good side But you find eventually we all have things to hide And you can't blame them for gazing on a star Nurtured carefully to show how beautiful we are They don't know That beauty has an ache What you thought's your saving grace Might be your mistake You're highly prized So beauty can't resist You rely on your diguise You smile and be kissed You know I know That beauty has an ache But you can't quite understand This quality you hate You're highly prized You're placed above the rest A pity she can never see just why She's been blessed Beauty has an ache Beauty has an ache Beauty has an ache Beauty, beauty has an ache Beauty Beauty, beauty has an ache Beauty

WEBMISTRESS speculates:

This song is so-so, the tune is not bad but a little repetitive. It's got a good message though - beauty does not equate happiness, as is obvious from the fact the girl in the song is beautiful, yet suicidal.
