One on One

Written: Patton/Adelstein; Sung: R. Patton; Guitar: L. Buckingham

You wanna be the baddest independent That's your fantasy, to walk out the door You wanna be the bigger scene-stealer Well, you'd always be first on the floor You wanna be the world that's awakened And leave all that waste far behind You wanna be the chance always taken And you know what it takes every time 'Cause you have the strength to be real And the cruise won't take you long to the next deal So when life looks bleak It's your heart that faces defeat You're one of the strong Show them they're wrong Keep it one on one Keep it one on one You're gonna be the neatest individual You'll grow if you just get the bait You're one of the overnight sensations Let nobody stand in your way 'Cause you have the strength to be real And the cruise won't take you long to the next deal Oh, when life looks bleak It's your heart that faces defeat You're one of the strong Show them they're wrong Keep it one on one Oh, baby, keep it one on one Keep it one on one Keep it one on one Keep it one on one There you go, one on one, yeah There you go, there you go, one more time Keep it one on one You wanna be number one....

WEBMISTRESS speculates:

This song's OK, not the best, but not terrible either....at least tune-wise. The lyrics don't impress me at all, I don't know, maybe I transcribed them wrong, but they don't really seem to make that much sense.
