Time

Written & Sung: B. Stewart; Backup Vocals: L. Buckingham

You might like me Tellin' you lies And pretendin' that you're still in my life But I can't do that You know, it don't seem right That I should try something I don't like   'Cause it seems like it's time To make my mind at rest Seems like it's time To do what I must do Yes, it seems like it's time For me to get away from you When you see me You jump right out of your seat And you say, "Daddy, why don't you come and sit by me?" So I tell you That I can't Because I ain't the way you remember me 'Cause it seems like it's time For me to make my mind at rest Seems like it's time To do what I must do Yes, it seems like it's time For me to get away from you When you see me Somewhere in the morrow You'll look back on what I said today You'll reflect me Somewhere in your mind And you'll be glad of what I had to say That it seemed like it was time For me to make my mind at rest Seemed like it was time To do what I must do Yes, it seems like it's time For me to get away from you

WEBMISTRESS speculates:

This is a very folksy song with a pleasant tune. It's got good harmonies, and Lindsey's voice is very evident (at least to me!). My only objection: Baron Stewart's insistence on using words incorrectly - it just annoys me to hear him sing "You'll reflect me" knowing that he means "You'll reflect on me". Otherwise, he sounds like he's speaking of himself as a mirror. OK, I probably sound pretty nitpicky now, but I do admit I like the song anyway!

LOVER OF BARTERING speculates:

My my my you do seem somewhat nitpicky about the song "Time". I think Baron meant "reflect me" and said it. But why claim to know that he means "on me"? Couldn't it just as easily be "about me"? "over me", "concerning me" LOL Isn't everything we see a reflection? Regardless, I love the song.
