Louie, Louie

 Written by R. Berry

Louie, Louie, oh, baby, we gotta go Louie, Louie, oh, baby, said we gotta go Three nights and days, sail the sea Think of girl constantly I take her in my arms and then Tell her I'll never leave again Louie, Louie, oh, baby, we gotta go Louie, Louie, oh, baby, said we gotta go Said, we gotta go now Said, we gotta go now Let's get on outta here!

WEBMISTRESS speculates:

Lindsey played this song kinda off the cuff during an '92 interview on WLLZ...and he couldn't remember most of the words. But does anyone really know what Ely says during this song anyway? I put up the words Lindsey seems to grab at, which combine bits of about three verses into a little combo verse, and takes away that Jamaican "me gotta go" for the more grammatically correct "we gotta go"!

The comments preceding this display: "Well, you know, I love songs that, that have a raw thing, something like Louie Louie, you know, this is, this is, um, yeah, animal...well, it's the drums, this guy's mic-ed across the room, he doesn't know how to play, you know, and he's doing it...[laughs] that's what I like, that's good. Aw, Louie Louie."
