Lay Down Your Arms

Written by H. Nilsson; Sung by R. Starr; Backup Vocal: S. Nicks

Now see what you get When you shoot so low Once you see it's bad You must say, "No, no" When you cannot sleep You must ask yourself what for? See what it is You can ask no more Lay down your arms Lay down your arms And I will open mine Lay down your arms Lay down your arms And I will open mine Love is not a sin Give in, give in Love is not a sin Give in, give in Love is not a sin Give in, give in Give in to love Lay down your arms Lay down your arms And I will open mine Don't close your eyes Don't close your eyes And I can open mine Lay down your arms Lay down your arms And I will open mine Lay down your arms Lay down your arms And I will open mine

WEBMISTRESS speculates:

While I'm all for a tribute to Harry Nilsson, this song is not one of his best. It's kind of sing-songy, which can get a little irritating - especially when Ringo Starr, not known for his vocal talents, is the lead singer. I guess my rating for this is "tolerable."
