Secret

Written: Zander/Nielsen/Steinberg/Kelly; Sung: R. Zander; Backup Vocal: S. Nicks

Baby come close So no one can hear I want to whisper something Whisper in your ear I want to tell you things I've never told no one else I want to tell you things From deep inside myself Oh, oh, oh Do I have to whisper? Oh, oh, oh Baby, can you keep a secret Locked inside your heart? Can you keep a secret? Tearing me apart If I give my love to you Would you give it back to me? Can you keep a secret? What good's a door That's always kept shut? What could happen to me If I opened up? I want to tell you things That may come as a surprise, girl I hope you won't be distant When you look in my eyes Oh, oh, oh Come a little closer Oh, oh, oh Baby, but can you keep a secret Locked inside your heart? Can you keep a secret? Tearing me apart If I give my love to you Would you give it back to me? Can you keep a secret? Ooh, oh, oh Do I have to whisper? Oh, oh, oh Baby, but can you keep a secret Locked inside your heart? Can you keep a secret? It's tearing me apart If I give my love to you Would you give it back to me? Can you keep a secret Locked inside your heart? Can you keep a secret Deep and dark? If I give my love to you Would you give it back to me? Can you keep a secret? Oh, can you keep a secret? Ssshhh... Can you keep a secret Locked inside your heart? Can you keep a secret? Tearing me apart If I give my love to you Would you give it back to me? Can you keep a secret? Can you keep a secret Locked inside your heart? Can you keep a secret? It's tearing me apart If I give my love to you Would you give it back to me? Can you keep a secret? Can you keep a secret Locked inside your heart? Can you keep a secret Deep and dark? If I give my love to you Would you give it back...

WEBMISTRESS speculates:

Robin Zander is the lead singer of Cheap Trick (this album is his solo effort) and though I can't get enough of "The Flame", this song isn't comparable to that power ballad. Instead, it's got a simplistic, repetitive melody. Still, the melody is appealing enough to earn a "not bad."
