Free Fallin'

Written by T. Petty and J. Lynne

She's a good girl Loves her mama Loves Jesus and America, too She's a good girl Crazy 'bout Elvis Loves horses and her boyfriend, too It's a long day living in Reseda There's a freeway running through the yard He's a bad boy 'cause he doesn't even miss her He's a bad boy for breaking her heart I'm free...free fallin' I'm free...free fallin' All the vampires walking through the Valley Move west down Ventura Boulevard All the bad boys are standing in the shadows And the good girls are home with broken hearts I'm free...free fallin' I'm free...free fallin' I want to glide down over Mulholland I want to write your name in the sky I want to free fall out into nothing I want to leave this world for a while Free fallin', yes, I'm free fallin' Free fallin', now I'm free fallin' Free fallin', now I'm free fallin' Free fallin' Well, I want to glide down over Mulholland I want to write your name in the sky I want to free fall, free fall out into nothing I wanna leave this, I've gonna leave this world for a while I'm free...free fallin' I'm free...free fallin' I'm free... (I see the bad boys standing in the shadows) Free fallin' I'm free... (I see the vampires walking through the Valley) Free fallin' I want to free fall out into nothing I want to glide down over Mulholland

WEBMISTRESS speculates:

This song was not written by Stevie, but she probably wanted to sing it partly because she is such good friends with Tom Petty. Plus, no doubt with her crazy life, she has wanted to "free fall" a few times herself.
