Jimmy Come On Back

 Written by S. Nicks

I was alone and you caught me with a stranger Out on the town last night I am so sorry, but my pleasures you denied Well, I know it's not right And if I saw you with someone new Well, I'd call, upset about the battle that raged And there is something that I found out that When I'm with you Well, Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Well, Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Don't be the lonely one Hey! You drove me crazy as we often do Truly crazy with me Why, sometimes you're up or then down, down, down, down Or somewhere out there in between I think that I got lost somewhere between Desire and my loneliness for you Well, I learned my lesson well And there's only one thing that I want to do Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Well, Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Well, Jimmy, won't you come on back, yeah, come on back? Let me back, let me back 'Cause I can't relax Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Well, I mean it, Jimmy Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Well, I mean it, I mean it, I mean it, Jimmy Ooh, I mean it, well, I mean it, I mean it, I mean it Well, Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Please... Well, Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Jimmy, won't you, Jimmy, well, Jimmy.. Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Swallow my pride... Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Hey, Jimmy, hey, Jim Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart? Oh, can't you see? Won't you come back? Jimmy, won't you come on back and live in my heart...

WEBMISTRESS speculates:

This song has that old-fashioned sixtes girl-group feel to it. Who's Jimmy? I don't know, but in some ways he sounds like Lindsey - especially the part where it talks about how moody he is, but she likes that moodiness, although she felt trapped between "desire and my loneliness for you." I doubt this is really talking about Lindsey, but it's the best I can do!

JESSICA speculates:

Wouldn't Jimmy be Jimmy Iovine, Stevie's producer? On the Stevie BTM he said something like he couldn't work with Stevie anymore and he walked out of the studio while the Rock a Little album was being recorded.

RENEE speculates:

This definitely about Jimmy Iovine. On the liner notes for Edge of Seventeen for Best of cd she writes that her and Jimmy lived together for a short time. I don't know if their love relationship lasted past Bella Donna, but I think this song is about their breakup and that she is sorry for what caused it to end and that she wants him back.

KATHRYN speculates:

This has to be about Jimmy Iovine.Stevie must have truly loved this guy as she never names her lovers in her lyrics. This is a finky track and it is a shame it was never released.
