Rules and Definitions
Rules
I am not a seller. If you don't have anything to trade, I am willing to do a 2:1 trade (see definition). If you only have CD-Rs and want DVDs, then two CD-R discs are equivalent to one DVD+R disc (since they're more expensive). You also must send postage for these. Don't forget to include the setlist of what you want. Note: These trades are limited to 4 discs.
- I have no problem trading other Fleetwood Mac-related items for CDs, like videos, memoribilia, etc. However, on this end, I'm just doing CDs and DVDs.
- Please don't use cheap discs like the "Cool Colors Memorex" ones. I usually use TDK or Maxell.
- If I've never traded with you before, I'm going to have to wait until I receive your end of the trade before sending out mine.
- Your CDs will come in paper slips, not jewel cases.
- Please supply a setlist with the CDs you send.
- Please keep me informed of when you send and receive your end of the trade. Also, please answer any e-mails I may send you regarding the trade within a week.
- I expect trading to be conducted in a timely manner. It is unacceptable for your end of a trade to take more than a month. If there are circumstances that make this impossible, I expect to be alerted to them.
Definitions
- "B&P" is short for "Blank and Postage." This is where you send blank discs and postage for the show because you don't have anything to trade.
- A "2:1 trade" is when you send me 1 extra blank CD-R for every CD you want made. For instance, if you want a 2 CD show, you send me 4 blank CD-Rs. You can do the same for DVDs, only make sure they are DVD+R (my machine won't recognize DVD-Rs).
- DAO is short for "Disc at Once." This is when there are no pauses between tracks. This is preferable for live shows.
- TAO is short for "Track at Once." This is when there is a short pause, usually two seconds, between tracks. This is fine for demo CDs but not so good for live shows.
- FBT is short for "Fades Between Tracks." This is when you have a fade-out at the end of each track and a fade-in at the beginning of each track.
- AUD is short for an audience recording.
- SB is short for a soundboard recording.
- FM is short for a radio recording.
- DVD or VHS means the audio was ripped from a DVD or a video cassette.
- "Untracked" is when a CD is not divided into songs, but is one long track. I usually split mine up using a .wav editor that does not incur any loss of quality.
- "Lossless" is a term used to describe a certain type of audio compression that does not involve a loss of quality (unlike MP3 compression). If the recording does come from a compression which does not preserve total quality such as MP3, it is called "Lossy." The difference is not that noticeable to the human ear unless the compression was poorly done. There is a good article on it here.
Note: Fleetwood Mac bootlegs are not as good quality as those of other artists, as a rule. I have graded each bootleg's quality to the best of my ability; however, such gradings are subjective. If you feel the grading was egregiously misrepresentative, contact me about it. Perhaps there was a mistake. Just keep in mind that there is no objective standardization of such things.
I don't have my demos and outtakes organized or grouped. Instead, I ask that you pick out the demos or outtakes you want burned and list them for me. I have provided the times so you can figure out how many songs you can fit on an 80 minute CD (although I suggest stopping at 76 or so, because CDs which are filled to the max usually don't last as long). Expect variance in quality with such demo CDs. Some demos are very rough. Note: You MUST include SPECIFICALLY which songs you want, broken down on CD. Do not just copy and paste huge lists and ask me to burn them until I've filled 5 CDs, or tell me to "Give me everything you have from the Tusk era." I need SPECIFICS. Also, I will not make more than 5 of these CDs at a time.
