He Couldn't Get His Poor Old Body to Move

Written: B. Wilson & L. Buckingham; Sung: B. Wilson; Guitar: L. Buckingham

I guess you all know it's been a long, long time Since the days of turnin' water to wine These days ain't easy, but they always improve When you go and get your poor old body to move Why sit hypnotized When you could feel alive? Take my simple advice You've gotta get your poor old body to move Seven times seven and ten times ten We gotta pick it up and start all over again It doesn't matter which steps you choose You've gotta get your poor old body to move Why sit hypnotized When you could feel alive? Take my simple advice You've gotta get your poor old body to move Get alive, get rollin' now Get away, get away now Let it out, let it out again Get along on your lazy way On your lazy way Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah If you're feeling lost and lonely, too I'll bet sometimes you don't know what to do Early in the morning when the sun shines through That's when you gotta get your poor old body to move Why sit hypnotized When you could feel alive? Take my simple advice You've gotta get your poor old body to move Why sit hypnotized When you could feel alive? Take my simple advice You've gotta get your poor old body to move Why sit hypnotized When you could feel alive? Take my simple advice...

This song is really cute! It cracks me up, and it's got a good beat, too! It sounds really Beach-Boyish (duh, Brian Wilson sang it and co-wrote it with Lindsey!) Despite the title, it's very energetic. I like it a lot. I've read that Lindsey liked to compare FM to the Beach Boys in some ways, and that he thought the Beach Boys harmonies were awesome (hence The Farmer's Daughter on the Live album). Of course there's also D.W. Suite, his tribute to Dennis Wilson. He must have a had a great time with this.
