1976 Demo Version Released on the Rumour Reissue (2004)
WEBMISTRESS speculates:
In the song credits, Stevie writes "For Christine" under this song title. I'm assuming she means Christine McVie, which puts an interesting spin on this song. Maybe Christine was feeling depressed and frustrated and this song was written to cheer her up. Her life might be hard and full of "torment" but "it's not as bad as it seems." Things'll get better. She may feel like she wants to get away from it all, but "fortune is [her] life's love" - she wouldn't be happy anywhere else, and she'd better "think about" that before she does anything drastic. It may mean heartbreak, but love is "only one small part of forever" - there's other things to life and Christine needs to focus on the good things. She might feel like she is "fading", but "heartbreak is not endless". She just needs to carry on. Don't stop thinking about tomorrow, Christine!
BEM speculates:
Stevie has said this song was written while she was rooming with Chris, post break ups at the height of crazyness.
